Now that the “Probably No God” bus campaign in London is drawing to the end of it’s month of placement, three Christian groups are lining up with their responses. The Christian party, the Trinitarian Bible Society and the Russian Orthodox Church each have paid for their own pro-God adverts to run on buses across central and east London and the West End for two weeks from Monday.
The Christian Party, aiming at raising public awareness of their campaign for a seat in the European Union elections in 2010, have paid for advertisements with a similar design, with the slogan: “There definitely is a God. So join the Christian Party and enjoy your life.”
The Trinitarian Bible Society, an organisation focused on distributing Protestant or uncorrupted versions of the Bible, is preparing to spend £35,000 on an advert with a less friendly line from Psalm 53 reading: ‘The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God.’ It will appear on 100 buses.
The Russian Orthodox Church in Great Britain and Ireland, meanwhile, has booked 25 bus adverts, backed with a sponsorship deal with Russian Hour TV.
